The journey so far has been fun, but in the last 2 weeks we have done more than the first 3 months. Where do I begin? Here is some history. We decided back in April to treat this venture as a church plant with an existing building. With that, you market, promote, and begin to create your church. This is what we’ve done so far. 1. We have changed the name to “NorthPlace Church”. 2. Created a very cool website. www.mynorthplace.com. 3. We have been teaching and laying a foundation for how to reach “outsiders”, I guess you who say. 4. We have added about 20 more of what I would call our launch team. 5. then we set a launch day which is this Sunday, Sept. 13.

With all that being said he is what is happening right now.

Sell of Property:
The church had 7 acres of land, of which most of it wasn’t being utilized at all. We decided to put up 2 acres on the back side for sale. And POOF in one day we had an offer for a large amount of money. Woohoo! We now have some cash to be able to actually do our launch preparations. God sent an AC company to buy our land. We have used all of this money to make improvements that before this couldn’t be made.

We built a NEW stage: Sorta
We added an extension on to the existing one, removed the carpet, then painted it “ninja” black. Sorry, inside joke with our people. The dark color causes your eye to not see it and to focus on the things on top of the stage. We like it.

We added a New Sign:
Instantly we created a new sign with our new name on that sign and planted it firmly in the ground. Right next to the road for all to see. Of coarse all the drive by’ers are wondering why we put this sign in their field of view blocking the on coming road. At least they see it. :)

NEW AC Unit:
Since the existing AC units are older than me and are still semi-working. We thought adding a unit to make sure it can be cool in the sanctuary would be nice.  Today, they installed a 5TON unit, while tomorrow they install the new duct work.

Construction Time:
Finally, this week we began construction on 2 main areas: 1. Kids Church & 2. The sanctuary. We have added sound equipment, lights, expanded the kids area by 100%, VIDEO kids curriculum, drywalls 2rooms, expanded the media room, began the painting of the exterior of the building, order carpet, order a new stained floor for the main service, and much more.

Service Preparations:
We are working on the music line up and the media aspects of this Sunday. We are very excited about the upcoming service. Please be praying with us about this Sunday. We are looking forward to what God is going to do at our “Launch Day”

Launch Team Planning Meetings

We are beginning to meet with our launch team. a group of people dedicated to helping this church get off the ground. We are meeting on Tuesday nights at NorthPlace church at 7PM. Please continue to pray for us as we push forward the work that God has called us to.

defining who we are

We finally wrote out our mission statement and defined out who we are. These statements are very important. The define who you are. We believe that these simple statements point us in the right direction. So we are sharing them with you.

MISSION:

To connect people in our community, with relevance and realness, to a life changing relationship with Jesus Christ.

PURPOSE:

1. Connecting people to God and with each other
2. Creating opportunities for Spiritual growth
3. Cultivating passion(s) to follow and serve our Creator

Like our tag line says, “we want to change the way you view church”. Our message is in plain English, a nd our purpose is extremely clear. There is zero pressure, but there is amazing opportunity here at NorthPlace. Our services are fun, exciting, simple and refreshing.

Latest at NorthPlace

Well much is happening here at NorthPlace Church. Hope all is well with all of you and your families. Our attendance is slowly but surely growing. We have had for the last 2 weeks over 50 each service. This are  amazing numbers since it is still summertime. Please be praying for our official launch day, September 13. We are are very excited about presenting our church to the community on this day.

Below are some of the highlights of the past few weeks.

Recent Message Series:
Our recent series is called “Risk”. We have been exploring to character from scripture. Joseph and Moses. We believe that God has not called us to sit back and be comfortable. We believe we are to risk our Faith on an amazing saviour, even as much that if he doesn’t show up we may fall on our faces. There is no plan “B”!!! This has been he GREATEST risk in my ministry so far. Honestly, even though it is tough, it has also been some of the “most funnest” times as well. I can’t wait to share all of what He is going to do. It will be amazing.

Work Day:
On Saturday, we mobilized an army to tackle some keys areas here at NorthPlace. First we enlarged our children’s area. If you want more kids, you then have to make room for them. We removed the wall between the existing kids area and my office. We then moved the office across the hall. This allows KIDS church to be twice as large. We also removed 30 year old orange shag carpet. Hopefully soon, we can put in new carpet into that area. We also removed the front ugly metal fence from the entrance. This was an eye sore. We also trimmed the bushes and added new mulch. It looks much better, now all we need is to paint the building and AC units. The last thing we did was to expand some of the restroom stalls making them more accessible. We have attached some pics. ENJOY.
